Tentoonstelling: DE GELE TRAM IN WASSENAAR

Veel mooie gedachten en jeugdherinneringen zullen tevoorschijn komen.
De Gele Tram is terug in Wassenaar.
Dankzij de vele enthousiaste reacties van mensen hebben we foto’s, boeken, filmpjes, attributen, persoonlijke herinneringen e.d. kunnen bemachtigen en gebruiken voor een tentoonstelling die op zaterdag 14 en zondag 15 september in de Graanschuur naast de molen zal worden gehouden.

Het motto van de landelijke Monumentendag dit jaar is Routes, netwerken en verbindingen. In Wassenaar hebben we deze gedachte opgepakt en getracht de Gele Tram in Wassenaar een nieuw leven te geven.
De Gele Tram reed tussen 1923 en 1961 door Wassenaar (route Den Haag-Leiden). Deze route willen we een nieuw leven inblazen door een historische gele bus te laten rijden over dit traject van de plek waar de Oude Tramremise stond (in Wassenaar Noord) tot aan de Goede Herder Kerk (Wassenaar zuid); voor (logistieke) details, zie de Tegel Gele Bus.
Vele bezoekers van de Monumentendag zullen met deze bus mee kunnen rijden en genieten van het mooie, wisselende en groene traject. Van Noord naar Zuid.

In de tentoonstelling zullen veel van deze herinneringen worden getoond.
Prachtige historische foto’s, boeken vol foto’s en teksten van schrijvers A. van Kamp en Joh. Blok, filmpjes over de Gele Tram, persoonlijke papieren (dienstroosters, identiteitskaarten, en attributen (fluiten, sleutels, tijdklokken e.d.) van vroegere trambestuurders, een schilderij van een Gele Tram, een tafereel in glas in lood, een stukje spoorrail, een trammodel enz, enz.

Het is werkelijk uniek en heel bijzonder dat we deze tentoonstelling over de historische Gele Tram kunnen organiseren en zeker ook omdat een aantal eigenaren van deze tramstukken met veel plezier op die tentoonstelling u het nodige kunnen vertellen over die tijd.

Exhibition: THE YELLOW (GELE) TRAM IN WASSENAAR

Many beautiful thoughts and childhood memories will emerge.
The Yellow Tram is back in Wassenaar.
Thanks to the many enthusiastic reactions of people, we have been able to obtain photos, books, videos, attributes, personal memories, etc. and use them for an exhibition that will be held on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September in the Granary (Graanschuur) next to the mill.

The motto of this year’s national Heritage Day is Routes, networks and connections. In Wassenaar we have taken up this idea and tried to give the Yellow Tram in Wassenaar a new lease on life.
Between 1923 and 1961, the Yellow Tram ran through Wassenaar (route The Hague-Leiden). We want to breathe new life into this route by having a historic yellow bus drive along this route from the place where the Old Tram Depot stood (in Wassenaar North) to the Goede Herder Church (Wassenaar South); for (logistical) details, see the Tile of the Yellow Bus.
Many visitors to Heritage Day will be able to take a ride on this bus and enjoy the beautiful, changing and green route. From North to South.

Many of these memories will be shown in the exhibition.
Beautiful historical photos, books full of photos and texts by writers A. van Kamp and Joh. Blok, videos about the Yellow Tram, personal papers (timetables, identity cards, and attributes (whistles, keys, time clocks, etc.) of former tram drivers, a painting of a Yellow Tram, a scene in stained glass, a piece of railway, a tram model etc, etc.

It is truly unique and very special that we can organize this exhibition about the historic Yellow Tram and certainly also because several owners of these tram pieces will be happy to tell you a lot about that time at that exhibition.
