De komende jaren wordt het Raadhuis de Paauw ingrijpend gerenoveerd. Alle gebruikers zullen daarom het pand moeten verlaten. Dat geldt dus ook voor het Brandweermuseum. Het college van B&W heeft besloten dat de collectie niet terug kan keren in het Raadhuis de Paauw omdat de huidige ruimten van het Brandweermuseum een andere functie krijgen. Eerder werd gecommuniceerd dat de ruimten benut zouden worden voor werkplekken en vergaderruimten. Nu blijkt dat de drie museumruimten gebruikt zullen worden voor een toiletblok, opslag horeca en nog nader te bepalen opslagruimten.
Op dit moment maar ook in de toekomst wordt niet verwacht dat de gehele collectie elders in Wassenaar tentoongesteld kan worden. Een Dorpsmuseum Wassenaar is nog heel ver weg. Om die reden heeft de gemeente als eigenaar van de collectie besloten de gehele collectie inclusief museumarchief over te dragen aan Korpora in Apeldoorn. Korpora is het erfgoedcentrum voor veiligheidsdiensten zoals politie, brandweer, ambulancediensten. Daarbij is afgesproken dat de collectie beschikbaar zal blijven om in Wassenaar tentoongesteld te worden.
De Collectie Van der Mark is de basis van ons museum en wordt aangemerkt als een collectie van nationaal belang. (zie bijlage) Korpora wil daarom de collectie graag onderbrengen en opnemen in hun collectie.
Door de collectie in zijn geheel over te dragen blijft de collectie bijeen en wordt goed geconserveerd en gedocumenteerd opgeslagen in Apeldoorn. Toekomstige generaties kunnen dan bepalen of de collectie, anders dan digitaal, nog toegankelijk zal zijn in Wassenaar. Hiermee komt een einde aan ruim 100 jaar Brandweermuseum Wassenaar.
Om u in de gelegenheid te stellen de collectie voor de laatste keer te bezoeken nodigen wij u uit op zaterdag 13 september tussen 11.00 uur en 16.00 uur.

Fire Brigade Museum

In the coming years, the De Paauw Town Hall will undergo extensive renovations. All occupants will therefore have to vacate the building, including the Fire Brigade Museum. The Municipal Executive has decided that the collection cannot return to the De Paauw Town Hall because the current Fire Brigade Museum spaces will be repurposed. Previously, it was announced that the spaces would be used for workspaces and meeting rooms.
It now appears that the three museum spaces will be used for restrooms, catering storage, and storage areas yet to be determined. Currently, and in the future, it is not expected that the entire collection can be exhibited elsewhere in Wassenaar. A Wassenaar Village Museum is still a long way off. For this reason, the municipality, as the owner of the collection, has decided to transfer the entire collection, including the museum archive, to Korpora in Apeldoorn. Korpora is the heritage center for emergency services such as the police, fire department, and ambulance services. It was agreed that the collection will remain available for exhibition in Wassenaar.
The Van der Mark Collection is the foundation of our museum and is considered a collection of national importance (see attachment). Korpora would therefore like to house the collection and incorporate it into their collection.
By transferring the entire collection, it will remain intact and well-preserved and documented, stored in Apeldoorn. Future generations can then determine whether the collection will remain accessible in Wassenaar, other than digitally. This marks the end of over 100 years of the Wassenaar Fire Brigade Museum.
